Laser Guidance for Loading Docks and Truck Positioning

Accurate truck positioning can become difficult when loading areas are poorly illuminated or exposed to changing weather conditions. At night or during rain and snow, conventional painted lines may provide insufficient visual guidance for the driver. FieldLAS provides an active laser-based visual reference, projecting highly visible lines directly onto the driving surface. The laser lines can indicate the correct approach path, define the docking position, or show the boundaries within which the truck or trailer should be positioned.
This provides drivers with a clear reference when approaching loading docks, ramps, and industrial unloading areas.
Unlike passive painted markings, FieldLAS generates the reference using an active laser source. This makes the guidance particularly effective in darkness, poorly illuminated areas, and challenging operating conditions where conventional floor markings may be difficult for drivers to identify.

Delta Lasers developed the FieldLAS industrial laser projector for virtual marking and visual guidance in demanding industrial environments. The system combines high-power laser technology with dedicated line optics to generate long, clearly visible reference lines directly on the working surface. The optical configuration can be selected according to the installation height, required projection length, line width, and operating conditions.
For truck docking applications, FieldLAS provides an active visual guidance system that remains effective when conventional painted markings become difficult to identify due to darkness, poor lighting, or challenging weather conditions.
